Are Rocklin Short Sales Ethical?
I often get asked this question as a Rocklin short sale agent. Most people wonder if ethically, it’s okay to sell their home for less than they owe. After all, the mortgage was agreed upon and shouldn’t all parties see it through?
I’m a real estate agent, specializing in short sales, and I see first hand the many different kinds of situations that those facing short sale and foreclosure are in. Sometimes there is an obvious hardship like job loss, death or illness of someone in the house, or divorce. Other times, it’s not so obvious like reduction of hours at work, needing to relocate for work or to be closing to an ill family member. Then there are those that unknowingly bought their homes at the peak of the market and are now so far underwater that it will probably take at least 10 years for the value to come back to their original levels.
For these people, their home is a financial drain on their family that isn’t even close to being over. Perhaps they have a growing family or the neighborhood has changed for the worse. Should they stick it out for an indefinite number of years, because they made a deal? In my opinion, life goes on. A lot of life happens in such a long period of time and a house that was once right, just isn’t right anymore. In these cases, a short sale is ethical.
How will it affect you and your family if you stay in a house that doesn’t work for you anymore? It can be a huge burden and very stressful. How can you fix it? You can get rid of it! It’s amazing how uplifting it can be to rid yourself of a major problem like this. A short sale allows your to go on with your life and recover much faster than if you wait it out, tiring you and your family out in the process.
Rocklin short sales come with a lot of questions. Don’t hesitate to ask…I’m here to help. See if you qualify to sell your Rocklin home as a short sale.
